Chirk Castle
Chirk Castle is a bit of a drive from populated areas, but is well worth the trip, the views from the gardens alone pays for every minute. Their elevated position gives a commanding view over the surrounding hills and countryside.
This popular National Trust property has both a grand and well kept Castle, the same can be said for the amazing gardens. The amount of the internal rooms you are able to explore is awesome and each one is exquisitley decorated with period furniture. We would love to see some of the closed off rooms! The items and furniture on display at Chirk castle are amazing. Moreover as you move around the castle you can see the rooms move through time, period moving to more modern 20th century furniture and décor in newer areas of the castle.
Prior to reaching the castle there are old stables at the entrance. In here there are several business to wander round. Gardening and clothing are the main fare however there is a Segway adventure spot but that will need prior booking. Further along you will find the fabulous castle kitchen garden, with produce sold in the courtyard shop.
In the castle courtyard there is a pleasant enough cafe with seating and toilets.
