Dolbadarn Castle
Dolbadarn Castle is a little gem of a castle in the Snowdonia town of Llanberis.
Often overlooked due to its location at the foot of Snowdon its well worth the short walk. Llanberis is home to the famous Snowdon Mountain Railway and other popular visitor attractions. The pathway to Dolbadarn Catle from the road is conveniently located close to the main car parks. Most visitors to the area dont realise they are so close to the fantastic peice of history.
Though not much remains of the outer buildings however the castles main tower is still in good condition. What’s better is you are still able to access this amazing piece of history inside and out. Dolbadarn Castle is just a short walk from the road over the stream (bridged) though the path is a little steep in places.
Once you arrive within the original grounds of the castle the views are fantastic from this elevated position. The old, low castle walls afford views of Llyn Padarn and the epic quarry workings which makes the short walk worth it.
